Mumfred

Aquí dejo un estudio de color y de personaje para el proyecto de serie Mumfred. Como la serie va a ser 3D he intentado dar volumen al diseño que ya tenía para las tiras cómicas en las que se basa. A este le he puesto pelo, pero la verdad es que no sé si al final irá con pelo o no. Seguramente tendré que hacer otra versión simulando el pelo con volúmenes de geometría.

Here I post a color and character design test for the animation series project "Mumfred". The series is coing to be 3D, so I tried to give some volume to the character I had previously designed for my comics strips that the series is based on. I've drown it with fur, but I don't really know if it'll finally have fur or not. Probably I'll have to draw another version simulating fur with geometry volumes.

Diseño de un disco

Pues como esto lo tengo medio muerto, voy a colgar el último diseño de disco que hice. No es gran cosa, pero es que últimamente estoy paradete. Hacía ya años que no hacía diseños para discos de música (tuve una época, pero lo dejé) y hace poco me pidieron que hiciera este como favor, bastante de improviso. La verdad es que está hecho en una tarde, porque ya se sabe lo que tienen los favores... Se hacen con gusto, pero el tiempo justo :D




This is very quiet, so I've decided to post the last cover design I've made. It's not a great thing, but I wanted to post something. It's been years since I made my last cover design for a music album. I used to work on that, but I left it long ago. Recently I was asked to design this one as a favor, so I did it in one evening. That's the point of favors: you're pleased to do them, but for a short time :P

Tonterías de verano

Últimamente tengo esto un poco descuidado. Eso se debe al verano, que apetece más estar en la calle que delante del ordenador. Pero para que veáis que sigo vivo, aquí dejo un post veraniego. Estaba en la playa y, como no teníamos papel y lápiz, un amigo y yo nos las apañamos como pudimos para hacer algún personajillo en la arena. ¿Lo reconocéis? :D

I've got this blog a little bit unattended lately. That's because of the summer. I've rather been outside than in front of a screen. But just to show you I'm still alive, here I leave a summerly post :) I was at the beach and, as we couldn't find any pen or paper, a friend and I managed as we could to make some character on the sand. Do you recognise him? :D

Historia de un plano

Ya tengo permiso para poder enseñar algo del trabajo previo de El Lince Perdido. Mientras preparo la reel con mis planos de animación con el audio original, me ha parecido buena idea ir poniendo algo más, para hacer boca :P Este es uno de los muchos planos de la peli en el que yo he hecho el story, el layout y la animación, así que me ha parecido interesante poner todo el proceso. Aquí queda.

Finally, I'm permitted to show a little of my previous work for The Missing Lynx. While I prepare my reel with my animation shots (with the original English audio), I've wanted to post something just as a "snack" :P This is one of the many shots in the movie where I did everything from the storyboard to the final animation, including layout, so I thought it'd be interesting to show the whole process. Here it is.

Robin Hood

¡Increíble! ¡Dos posts en el mismo fin de semana! Si es que estoy lanzado... Resulta que anoche me puse a ver Robin Hood, la antigua, la de Errol Flynt, y me dio por dibujar un bocetillo mientras. Ahí lo dejo.


Amazing! Two posts in one weekend! Somebody stops me! The thing is last night I was watching Robin Hood, the old one with Errol Flynt, and I drew this sketch in the meanwhile.

Superstar: The Animation Series

Un poco más de lo mismo. Ahora he hecho al otro sacerdote, Annas. ¿Por qué? Porque sí, porque me apetecía. Este es menos firme que Caifás, más "sinuoso" y susurrante. Al menos así es como siempre he visto yo a este personaje. También está un poco más suciete y abocetado que el dibujo anterior, pero es que se me acabaron las ganas de dibujar a mitad. Además, este no era para nadie, así que tengo excusa. A este paso, me hago a todos los personajes del musical y me monto una serie de animación: "Superstar: The Animation Series". Suena bien, ¿no?... Hummm... Igual lo hago, que no os sorprenda :P



A little more of the same thing. Now here it is the other priest, Annas. Why? Just because, 'cause I was in the mood. This one is less rigid than Caifas, more "sinuous" and whispering. At least that's how I've always seen this character. This picture is a little rougher than the last one, as I got tired of drawing before finishing it. Anyway, this one is just for myself, so who cares. If I keep going like this, I'll end up drawing all the characters from the roleplay and I'll make "Superstar: The Animation Series". Sounds good, doesn't it? ... Hummmm... Maybe I do it, why not... :P
